Triglav!

For those who think that summer is here and skies should be stored away.. let me tell you: we won't go gentle until that last goodbye! With this philosophy in mind we decided to tackle the roof of Slovenia - yes Triglav (2864m) himself. We ascended through the glacier valley of Kot and up to Staničev Dom. We were quite late and had mixed feelings when the sun slowly settled behind the mountains. On one side we saw beauty in all its mystical form while on the other side a chilly night was knocking on the door. We speeded up the tempo and reached Kredarica (2515m) in pitch darkness. There we opened a couple of beers and listened to stories of two skiing veterans who were also staying at the hut. "Early morning" is an understatement, when we woke up at 5 o'clock in the morning to get ready for the final ascent. In about two hours, we stood on the top.. tired but not beaten. It was a magnificent feeling being on the top, and a few minutes seemed like hours. Keber got a few whips on the butt, since it was his first time on Triglav. But the best of all, around 1500m of non stop skiing was waiting for us. We quickly descended back to Kredarica, put on our skies and started the ride. (Alpinistic skiing detail, below Rž: S3)

In the past few days, most of the snow has melted... but the memories are here to stay!
