Winter at last - Mrežce

The first three weeks of January were by far the warmest in the last 100 years - it was around 10 degrees Celsius practically every day. We were already getting concerned that global warming has seriously increased the momentum; however to our great relief, winter with cold temperatures and big quantities of snow has finally arrived. Lojze and Ana were quickly ready, and so we attacked the mountains above Pokljuka. Ana waited in the Blejska hut, while Lojze and I ascended on Mrežce (1965m). The snow conditions were solid, while the company and the weather were both superb.
