The Blegoš project - winter addition

My family and running both had a very high priority this winter, resulting in a smaller portion of ski-touring. However, those few trips to the mountains were very carefully planned, intensive and memorable. This was exactly the case with the Blegoš project, which was growing on my wish list for over 2 years, and was finally materialized in the beginning of February. I assembled the boys (Damjan, Kebr and Leon) on a Friday afternoon and hit the road towards Stari vrh. We skied on the pists until they closed the resort, and then using our headlamps, descended towards the south. In about 10 minutes we reached Četena ravan (920m) and the Tavčar farm, where a very hospitable landlady served us dinner and homemade snaps.

After an early breakfast we ascended back to Stari vrh, and joined by Artač, started to conquer the neighboring hills: Mladi vrh (1374), Koprivnik (1393m) and Blegoš (1562m). There was no extreme alpine skiing; however, the Blegoš mountains gave us powder, solitude and completely new terrain. Even Artač had to admit this experience was something fresh. Overall we did more than 25km and almost 2000m of vertical descent. I have big plans for the Blegoš area in the next season, but for now let's keep it a secret.
