Biking sLOVEnia!

When we make plans to bike across half of Slovenia, someone might think that our country is small. And once we complete the trip, that someone has no doubts anymore:) Still, Slovenia is big enough that it took 3 courageous boys and one very strong and stubborn girl to complete the adventure. We started in Ljubljana and first headed east down the Sava valley. In Zidani most we turned north and quickly reach Lasko, where we all drank one big Lasko (beer). That was the point where Leon decided that his ass had enough torture and quickly bought padded bicycle shorts in Celje. We were done with almost a 100 kilometers, yet the most difficult part was still ahead of us. Annoying mountain passes, endless valleys, unknown villages, misdirection, muscle fatigue, thirst... those were just some enjoyable moments! When we finally reached Haloze - the promised land, we were awarded with all the luxuries a house can offer. The next day we biked to Leon's grandmother in Ljutomer, who cooked and spoiled us even more. On the third day we went to visit a huge aqua-park in Murska Sobota and played in water like little kids. The evening came much too early as we had to pack our gear and drive to the train station!

 
But - ohh no, the adventure was not ready to say goodbye! The train that was suppose to take us back to Ljubljana didn't take us there. The engine driver shouted: "bicycles - NO GO!" And before we had time to protest the train disappeared in the horizon. Biking was the last thing we had in mind that evening, but another 40 kilometers to the city of Ptuj was inevitable. Ana and I decided that 350 kilometers of biking was good enough and jumped on an early morning train. Leon and Pecek boldly decided to finish the trip in style and biked back to Ljubljana. When we met up again that evening we all agreed that Slovenia is not that small after all:)
