Dovška Baba (1891m) is a very popular ski-touring destination, probably because it has all the necessary ingredients: sunny location, road proximity and most of all.. it's "avalanche-free." Ana was craving for mountain action, but also for something sunny and fun, making Dovška Baba a perfect choice. Due to fresh powder, we left the car in the village of Dovje, which meant we had to fight almost 1200m of elevation difference. It was a warm day, but the chilly wind at the top reminded us that winter is still dominating the mountains. As we skied into the valley, signs of mass-tourism began to appear.. but that's how it is with classic peaks.

Below you can find a great view of the
glacier valley Kot, which is perfect for skiing in late spring. I also marked the hut of Valentin Stanič, which offers a small but cozy winter room.
