Tur Dolenska!

This summer is reserved for writing my master's thesis (Ana is finishing her diploma) and apartment renovation, however, we still try to find pleasure in short escapes. I have promised Ana that one of the trips will be culturally oriented or in other words: completely "sports-free." And so we set off for Dolenska, where we visited numerous fascination places, all concentrated in the radius of 20 kilometers. We first stopped by Otočec, a spectacular castle standing on the Krka river. Next was the Charthusian monastery in Pleterje and a very well-preserved gothic church. The last stop was Kostanjevica, one of the oldest and smallest towns in Slovenia, which is completely surrounded by the Krka river. There we also visited friends of Ana's family, who showed us the town and took us to Forma Viva, a world-famous gallery of wooden sculptures. At the end of the day we canoed around Kostanjevica, until the sunset reminded us of the late hour. You could say I'm getting a little soft, but I really enjoyed this cultural excursion:)
