Montenegro - a true mountain!

Adventure was the main highlight of this summer's trip to the near Balkans, which took Ana and me through Croatia, Bosnia and all the way to the highlands of Montenegro. We enjoyed a calm finish of the trip on the Croatian island Hvar, in great company of Ana's family. We saw a lot of beautiful, exciting and strange things on the trip.. and to better paint the picture, here are a few snapshots!

We spent the first night in Sarajevo, a city rich in history and contrast:

Montenegro is full of natural beauty:

Montenegro inhabitants are the tallest people in the world:

Breathtaking Piva and Tara gorges:

Mountain basketball and the bad boys:

Forgotten mountains and snow plantations below Bobotov Kuk (2522m):

Žabljak (1450m), located right next to the Black Lake is the highest town in the Balkans:

Hasan (from Albania) was our host at the Skader Lake:

The trip took us from mystical Skader Lake to the spectacular gulf of Kotor:

We watched the water-polo final (Montenegro-Serbia) in Kotor, and sometimes we had the feeling we were in the middle of Serbia:

We climaxed the trip by relaxing on Hvar.. and much too early our adventure was over. However, not to worry, we shall be back to the Balkans!
