Two magnificent valleys, Dolina za Kopico and Triglav Lakes, are divided by a steep mountain ridge, which has been tempting me for quite a few years. I was certainly ready, and so were the boys (Mare, Prti, Leon and Keber), who gathered from all around to open the ski-touring season. Prti even jumped on a train from Nova Gorica, and penetrated the southern Juliske alps. After a long and tiring ascent across the Bohinj meadows, we had just enough energy to climb Mala Zelnarica (2310), which is the last mountain in the abovementioned ridge. The day was everything but easy, however, it offered more than we could possibly expect.
