Bovec - short and sweet!

Bovec is an idyllic town located somewhere in the middle of Juliske Alps, more exactly - in the river valley of Soča. There are at least four ways to drive to Bovec, however, all of them required 2 hours and more than 100 kilometers. On the other hand, the remoteness of this region is not so bad since it prevents ambitious attacks of mass tourism.

My sister (Lucija) has a friend, that has a boyfriend, that has a grandmother... that has a summerhouse in Bovec:) This connection turned out quite convenient, and I quickly started planning a short family vacation. What I forgot to mention is that Bovec is the most rainy region in Slovenia, which meant we had a lot of time to enjoy indoor social activities and explore local gourmet's specialties. In the end, my father and I still managed to squeeze a rainy ski trip to Krn Lake. When Ana and Lucija arrived, the weather turned a little better.. giving us the opportunity for a short hike towards Ronbon and a day of skiing on Kanin - the only ski resort in Slovenia, which is higher than 2000m.
